DAL at the 2025 NM Legislative Session

|

Community,

We are so excited to share that we’re heading back to Santa Fe for the 2025 NM Legislative in support of our bill, HB 56.

HB 56 is an effort to ensure that Medicaid reimbursement for services provided at birth centers is the same as reimbursement for services provided at hospitals. The passing of this bill would cause a positive rippling effect that’ll propel DaL into its next sustainable phase.

But we can’t do it without you!

HB 56 will need to be heard in four different committees before it can be passed. In each committee, community members will have the opportunity to advocate for the bill.

HB 56 is going into its first committee THIS Wednesday, 1/29 starting at 8 am.

If we can get five people to testify each committee in support of DaL and HB 56, we know our voices will be heard!

Testimony is limited to 2 minutes or under, and can be done via Zoom or in person. We’ll provide everyone who volunteers with 1:1 support and guidance.

Thank you for your support and dedication to Dar a Luz.
