May 2025 Newsletter

Community,
This Mother’s Day, we celebrate and honor all mothers: those who are pregnant,
those raising children, those who have experienced loss, those who mother through
community, and those whose path to motherhood has taken many shapes.
We also extend our deepest gratitude to every person who has trusted Dar a Luz to
be part of the sacred moment where they become a mother. Your stories, your
strength, and your trust are at the heart of everything we do.
At Dar a Luz, we believe deeply in the truth that it takes a village to raise a child. And
just as every baby deserves to be welcomed with love, every parent deserves a
supportive, informed, and connected beginning.
In that spirit, we invite you to give a gift with lasting impact by participating in our
Mother’s Day Fundraiser. This is your chance to contribute directly to support
families in our New Mexican communities.
Your donation will support:
- Newborn Onesies ($15) – A soft and loving first outfit for each baby born at Dar a Luz, symbolizing the care that surrounds every new beginning.
- DAL’s Birthing Your Baby Book ($25) – Filled with expert guidance on midwifery, pregnancy, birth, and newborn care, these books empower new parents with knowledge and confidence.
- Postpartum Care Bags ($50)– Thoughtfully packed with essentials like diapers, wipes, nipple pads, herbal healing items, and swaddles—offering tangible care for the tender postpartum period.
- Support Groups ($75) – Our Postpartum & Lactation Group, Queer & Trans Parents Group, and Fathers Group offer community, connection, and expert support for all kinds of parents.
- Mobile Lactation Station ($100) – Help us expand our services through a mobile lactation unit designed to meet the growing needs of our community, providing a dedicated space for feeding support and education.
This Mother’s Day, honor the nurturing spirit in all its forms by giving a gift that uplifts
and empowers others on their parenting journey.
Please help us reach our goal of $5000 by May 31st.
Whether you’re donating in honor of your own mother, a new parent in your life, or
your own path through parenthood, your generosity keeps our mission thriving.
Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Dar a Luz 💙

Quizzing for Community: DAL Trivia!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us on April 18th at Lost Cultures Tea Bar
for Quizzing for Community: A Trivia Benefit Night for Dar a Luz! Your presence
and generosity helped make our 14th anniversary celebration special.
This fun, family-friendly evening was filled with laughter, great trivia, prizes, and a
special DaL drink, all in support of our mission.
We’re especially grateful to Lost Cultures Tea Bar for their partnership and for
donating 20% of April proceeds from the “Love is Beautiful” drink to Dar a Luz.
Support local ABQ businesses and visit Lost Cultures next time you’re in the mood
for a delicious NA drink on a sunny day!
We’d also love to thank Lizzie with Quizzing for Community for donating her time and
expertise in creating this one-of-a-kind trivia for DAL and its supporters.
From our whole team, thank you for being part of our community and helping us
honor 14 years of care and connection. We couldn’t do this work without you! 💛

Help Us Create a Mobile Lactation
Station for Families
We are seeking the donation of an RV to transform into a mobile lactation station
that will be used at Dar a Luz as an additional lactation room.
Your generous donation will directly support breastfeeding families, promote infant
health, and help create a more inclusive, family-friendly community.
If you have a vehicle/portable to donate or know someone who does, please reach
out! We’d love to give it a second life in service of parents and babies.
Contact us by responding to this email.
