March 2025 Newsletter

Community,

As spring unfolds, we are reminded of the beauty of growth, renewal, and new
beginnings. Whether you’re expecting a little one, navigating postpartum, or
reflecting on your birth journey, we are honored to be part of your story.

This season, we celebrate the strength of our families, the dedication of our care
team, and the deep connections that make Dar a Luz more than just a birth center—
it’s a community. We are grateful for each and every one of you who walks through
our doors, sharing in the spirit of support and empowerment.

Major things are happening for Dar a Luz in the next few months, including an
expansion of our lactation services, the introduction of new services, fun events, and
a big announcement we can’t wait to share with you all!

If you’d like to support these efforts, please consider making a donation today.
Together, we can continue creating a nurturing space for growing families.

As always, we are here for you with compassionate care, education, and resources
to support you through pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Thank you for being part of
our journey, just as we are privileged to be part of yours.

Wishing you a joyful and healthy March!

The Dar a Luz Team

Help Us Create a Mobile Lactation
Station for Families

We are seeking the donation of an RV to transform into a mobile lactation station that
will be used at Dar a Luz as an additional lactation room. The goal is to have a
functioning RV that can also be moved for community events.

Your generous donation will directly support breastfeeding families, promote infant
health, and help create a more inclusive, family-friendly community.

If you have a vehicle to donate or know someone who does, please reach out! We’d
love to give it a second life in service of parents and babies.

Contact us by responding to this email.

💙 Thank you for your support!

DaL Updates in
2025 NM Legislative Session!

HB 56 is an effort to ensure that Medicaid reimbursement for services provided at
birth centers is the same as reimbursement for services provided at hospitals. The
passing of this bill would cause a positive rippling effect that’ll propel DaL into its
next sustainable phase.

HB 56 is currently in its final two Senate committees. After this, it could head to the
Senate floor for its final vote. With only a week and half left in the 2025 session, we
are working hard with our community partners to get it over the finish line.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who has helped us get here by providing testimony
and support. No matter what, we are so grateful to have you all in our corner.

Carseat Recall

Nuna Baby Essentials has recalled more than 600,000 of its RAVA car seats because
debris may prevent the harness from staying snug.

The recall affects RAVA models made from July 16, 2016, to Oct. 25, 2023, the
company said. In those car seats, debris may get stuck where the front harness
adjuster button is, impeding the mechanism from properly clamping on the strap.
