Community,
February is a month filled with love, and at Dar a Luz, we see love in its purest form every day—the love of parents welcoming their babies, the love of families growing together, and the love and care that surrounds every birth.
As we step into this month, we celebrate not just Valentine’s Day, but the deep, unwavering love that fuels our work. Whether you are expecting, have birthed with us before, or simply support our mission, you are part of a beautiful community that cherishes empowering and joyful births.
This season, let’s take a moment to honor the power of love in all its forms—self-love, family love, and the love that connects us all. Please consider showing DaL some love by donating below. Each donation ensures that we can continue providing our exceptional care to more New Mexican families.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey. We are grateful for you and look forward to many more moments of joy and new beginnings.

Welcome Bebe, RN & Birth Assistant!
My journey into maternal care began when I became a birth doula. For five years, I had the privilege of witnessing the beauty and strength of childbirth in home, hospital, and birth center settings. Those experiences deeply shaped my passion for supporting families through this profound moment in their lives and inspired me to become a nurse. After nursing school, I continued this journey as a Labor and Delivery nurse in a hospital setting. Now at Dar a Luz, I’m honored to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to moms and babies.
I was born in Los Angeles, raised in Las Vegas, NV, and have lived in five other states before finding my home in the picturesque East Mountains of New Mexico. My husband and I have two amazing daughters who I had the joy of raising and homeschooling, fostering their curiosity and creativity along the way.
When I’m not at work, I love playing and writing music, which has always been a source of joy and expression for me. I also have a passion for traveling—it fills me with inspiration and helps me appreciate life’s diverse experiences. At home, you’ll often find me baking something delicious, exploring New Mexico’s stunning landscapes, or simply spending time with my family.
Every birth is a unique and sacred moment, and I feel incredibly fortunate to support families as they welcome new life into the world. It’s an honor to do this work every day.
Bebe

DAL Needs Your Support This
2025 NM Legislative Session!
HB 56 is an effort to ensure that Medicaid reimbursement for services provided at birth centers is the same as reimbursement for services provided at hospitals. The passing of this bill would cause a positive rippling effect that’ll propel DaL into its next sustainable phase.
But we can’t do it without you!
HB 56 will need to be heard in 4 different committees before it can be passed. In each committee community members have the opportunity to advocate for the bill.
If we can get five people to testify each committee in support of DaL and HB 56, we know our voices will be heard!
Testimony is limited to 2 minutes or under, and can be done via Zoom or in person. We’ll provide everyone who volunteers with 1:1 support and guidance.
Thank you for your support and dedication to Dar a Luz.

Carseat Recall
Nuna Baby Essentials has recalled more than 600,000 of its RAVA car seats because debris may prevent the harness from staying snug.
The recall affects RAVA models made from July 16, 2016, to Oct. 25, 2023, the company said. In those car seats, debris may get stuck where the front harness adjuster button is, impeding the mechanism from properly clamping on the strap.
